AICoin AI: Ghana and UAE Launch $1B Tech Hub to Drive African AI Innovation
Ghana and the United Arab Emirates have finalized a groundbreaking $1 billion deal to create a technology and AI innovation hub in Ningo-Prampram. Signed on May 29th, this agreement establishes Ghana as a regional hub for cutting-edge technologies, with support from Dubai’s Ports, Customs, and Free Zone Corporation (PCFC).
The project will convert a 25-square-kilometer area into a prime location for global ICT companies looking to set up African headquarters. The UAE’s PCFC is fully funding the initial phase, utilizing partnerships with AI firms that powered Dubai’s digital transformation. "This isn’t just about infrastructure—it’s about building a foundation for shared technological sovereignty," stated Ghana’s Minister of Communications, Samuel George, during the signing ceremony.
